Ervens Jean-Pierre

Ervens Jean-Pierre is a native of Arniquet in the south of Haiti. He moved with his family to Maryland at the age of 17. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in International Studies from Washington College in 2020, with minors in Economics, Latin American Studies, and Peace and Conflicts. His pursuit of a deeper understanding of Latin American politics led him to spend a semester abroad at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Ervens is set to complete his Master of Public Administration at Northeastern University in 2024, complemented by a certificate in security and resilience.

Ervens has amassed diverse experiences across significant, prestigious organizations, each contributing uniquely to his expertise. As an intern at the White House, he delved into diversity and inclusion to strengthen organizational culture. His tenure at the United Nations Foundation focused on a clean cooking project in Haiti, engaging various actors, including the Haitian government and civil society groups, to promote sustainable development practices. As a Legislative Fellow in the Massachusetts State House for State Senator Liz Miranda, he honed his skills in legislative research, directly impacting policy development. Lastly, his fellowship with the Northeast Clean Energy Council (NECEC) centered on sustainable energy policy, advocating for clean energy solutions.

Ervens is fluent in French and Haitian Creole and has working proficiency in Portuguese and Spanish. Ervens harbors a profound interest in immigration and clean energy within the policy domain, as well as human rights, democracy, and sustainable socio-economic development in international affairs.
