Dr. Gloria C. Blaise

Originally from Carrefour, Haiti, Gloria and her family immigrated to the USA in 2000 when she was five years old, and she has since lived in New York. Gloria received her Ph.D. in Natural Resources and the Environment from Cornell University, where she led a research initiative focused on planetary health in Haiti

Before her doctorate, she received her Bachelor of Science in Ecology and Natural Resources from Rutgers University and a Master of Science in Natural Resources from Cornell University. She is committed to exploring the relationship between humans and nature and finding targeted solutions for complex issues that span all sectors, particularly in fragile contexts. Her goal is to inform international development through responsible, holistic translational research, with a particular emphasis on aiding developing countries in improving their governance structures and economies to support human health and well-being. 

Gloria enjoys cooking, strength training, listening to Haitian music, and traveling to Haiti and the wider Caribbean Region in her free time.
